Budget law, 1932, administrative correspondence, 1932-1933.

In 1932 an act entitled the "Budget and Financial Control Act" was approved and signed into law. This law reorganized the state's financial management structure by vesting more financial control with the Governor and creating an Office of State Comptroller. This series contains incoming and outgoing correspondence of the State Treasurer regarding 1932 unpaid warrants. Most letters are from suppliers of state equipment and property inquiring why the warrants had not yet been paid. The replies describe the 1932 act and the sale of bonds to cover the state's debts making the warrants good.
